74. The Commissioner of the Land Office shall also collect by
photographic process, known as Micro film, all plats in any of the
Clerks Offices or any other department of city or county where such
plats would affect title to land, that have been heretofore filed in
said office before June 1, 1945, and shall also furnish the said Clerks
with a copy of such film. There shall be a new Clerk appointed by
the said Commissioner of the Land Office to do or supervise this
work who shall receive such salary as may be provided in the Budget,
and the sum of $6,000.00 shall be included in the State Budget for
the purchase of equipment, supplies and expenses for the preserva-
tion of the State's vital records. Nothing in Sections 71, 72, 73 and
74 shall apply to Allegany, Carroll, Harford, Montgomery, Prince
George's, Dorchester and Talbot Counties.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 222
(Senate Bill 468)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 5A of
Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "Almshouse", as said
Section was enacted by Chapter 174 of the Acts of 1943, author-
izing the County Commissioners of Carroll County to convey
certain property to the County Board of Education for school
purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 5A of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "Alms-
house", as said section was enacted by Chapter 174 of the Acts of
1943, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

5A. The County Commissioners of Carroll County are hereby
authorized and empowered to sell, at public or private sale, at the
best price obtainable, such part or parts of the County Almshouse
property or farm as, in their discretion, they shall determine to be
to the interest and advantage of the County to sell. The said Com-
missioners are authorized to give a good and sufficient deed for the
property or properties so sold to the purchaser or purchasers thereof.
The proceeds from sale of said property or properties shall be paid
over to the County Treasurer of Carroll County as a part of the
general funds of the County.

The County Commissioners of Carroll County are hereby author-
ized and empowered to lease, dedicate or convey any part of the
