pany deems will be necessary to acquire by said special district
tax for its operating and maintenance expenses for the ensuing
calendar year. Said petition shall be accompanied by a current
financial report of the petitioning company and also by a proposed
budget for the ensuing calendar year setting forth in detail its
anticipated operating and maintenance expenses.
(2) Said County Commissioners shall thereupon determine, what,
if any, amount or amounts requested by said petition shall be allowed
or disallowed and shall proceed to levy, at the time of their next
regular annual levy said capital district tax at a rate sufficient to
yield the amount or amounts, if any, allowed, provided, however,
that said special district tax herein authorized shall not in any case
exceed ten (10c) cents on every hundred dollars of assessed
valuation.
(3) No amounts, or any part thereof, realized from any such
special district tax in any particular election district shall be used
for any purpose other than for the operating and maintenance ex-
penses of the volunteer fire company located within said particular
election district.
(c) Said County Commissioners shall pay unto each of said
volunteer fire companies such amount or amounts, if any, as shall
be due it under the provisions of sub-sections (a) and (b) at such
time or times and by such installments as they may deem proper.
(d) The tax hereby authorized under the provisions of sub-sec-
tions (a) and (b) shall be collected in the same manner as other
County taxes are collected.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 22 of
Article 51 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition),
title "Juries", sub-title "Qualification and Selection of Jurors",
relating to the compensation of jurors in Wicomico County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 22 of Article 51 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Juries", sub-title "Qualification and Selection
of Jurors", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
22. (a) Jurors in Anne Arundel and Washington Counties shall
receive Six Dollars per day and in all other counties, except Alle-
