SS. It shall be the duty of the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Balti-
more County to record all plats left with him to be recorded, except
plats showing property or rights-of-way to be acquired or conveyed
by either the State of Maryland to the use of the State Roads Com-
mission of Maryland, or by the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County, by the use of a photostat machine or similar mechanical de-
vice, to be approved by the Court, in well bound books suitable for
such purpose, with proper index or indices. The cost of the photostat
machine or similar mechanical device shall, upon approval by the
Court, be allowed as an expense of the office. The maker of said plat
or plats, when the same shall be presented for record, shall furnish
the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County a fee of $10.00
per page for each plat so offered.
The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County shall receive,
index and file in a substantial loose-leaf book linen-backed or other
durable copies of plats showing property or rights-of-way to be ac-
quired or conveyed by either the State of Maryland to the use of the
State Roads Commission of Maryland or by the County Commissioners
of Baltimore County, and when so filed and indexed the same shall be
and constitute a part of the Land Records of Baltimore County; said
Clerk shall be entitled to receive a fee of $1.00 for each State Roads
Commission Plat, and $3.00 for each County Commissioner's Plat
so filed and indexed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

(House Bill 538)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 643 of
Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), as said section was enacted by Chapter 8 of the Acts of
1953, title "Allegany County", sub-title "Westernport", regulating
the maximum amount of debt which may be incurred by the
municipal corporation of Westernport pursuant to the provisions
of Section 5 of Article 11E of the Constitution of Maryland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 643 of Articlet 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), as said section was enacted by Chapter 8
of the Acts of 1953, title "Allegany County", sub-title "Western-
port", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
643. At the first meeting of the Mayor and Commissioners of
Westernport in June of each year they shall set the amount of the
