Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($10,700.00)] fourteen Thousand
Six Hundred Dollars ($14,600.00)
for the use and benefit of the
organized and incorporated fire companies of Talbot County and to
levy on the taxable, basis of said County a tax sufficient to produce
said [Ten Thousand Seven Hundred Dollars ($10,700.00) J fourteen
Thousand Six Hundred Dollars ($14,600.00).
The amount thus
levied and appropriated shall be used for the purchase, improvement,
maintenance and operation of fire apparatus and fire equipment for
the said fire companies and the said Commissioners shall on or before
the fifteenth day of August each year, pay to the treasurers of the?
several fire companies the following amounts.

Easton Fire Company

$3,400.00

St. Michael's Fire Company

[ l,650.00]

2,250.00

Oxford Fire Company

[l,550.00]

2,150.00

Trappe Fire Company

[1,400.00]

2,000.00

Cordova Fire Company

No part of the above funds shall be expended for any purpose
other than for the purchase, improvement, maintenance and operation
of fire apparatus and equipment for said fire companies. The treas-
urer of each fire company shall make an annual report to the County
Commissioners showing for what purposes the funds were expended,
the said report to be submitted within thirty (30) days after the close
of the fiscal year.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1956.

CHAPTER 160
(House Bill 491)

AN ACT to repeal Section 385 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Cecil County (1953 Edition), being Article 8 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Cecil County", sub-title "Sheriff;
relating to the appointment of a physician to the jail of Cecil
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 385 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Cecil County
(1953 Edition), being Article 8 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Cecil County", sub-title "Sheriff", be and it is hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the physician appointed
as of the first day of April 1955 shall receive the total salary of
Eighteen Dollars ($18.00) for the months of April and May of 1955.
