the pro rata amount which is paid to a full-time Judge of the People's
Court for the time such Substitute actually spends sitting as a Substi-
tute. The Substitute Judge shall serve in the event of the temporary
absence or inability of a Judge of the People's Court, including the
People's Court Judge for Juvenile Causes, and shall sit in such
Judge's place and stead during the period of his absence or inability,
and shall have the same power and authority and be subject to the
same duties and responsibilities as the Judge for whom he is sitting.
Upon request by any Judge of the People's Court, the Substitute
Judge may sit at such time and place as is necessary to relieve a
crowded docket. The salary of the Judge causing a substitution shall
not be diminished on account of compensation paid to such Substitute.
112. (Corporate Bond.) Every trial magistrate, and Judge and
Substitute Judge of the People's Court of Montgomery County, be-
fore entering upon his official duties, shall give to the State of Mary-
land and file with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for the county, a good
and sufficient bond, with corporate security to be approved by the
County Commissioners OR COUNTY COUNCIL of the County for
which he was appointed, in the penalty of Five Thousand Dollars
($5,000.00), upon the condition expressed in each of said bonds that
the said Judge or Justice giving it will truly and faithfully discharge,
execute and perform all and singular the duties and obligations of a
Judge or Justice of the Peace, and that he will account for and
pay over to the County Commissioners OR COUNTY COUNCIL of
the County, or to whomsoever else may be otherwise or hereafter
designated by law as the proper recipient thereof, all fees, costs,
fines, penalties and forfeitures which he is bound to account for
and pay over as aforesaid, and that he will faithfully and truly
account for and pay over to the person or corporation entitled thereto
all money belonging to such person or corporation which may come
into his hands as such Judge or Justice of the Peace.
Every Justice of the Peace other than a trial magistrate or a
substitute trial magistrate, and every clerk to a trial magistrate
(except in Montgomery County), shall, before entering upon his
duties, give a corporate bond similarly conditioned, in the amount of
$1,000.00.
The premiums of all bonds required by this sub-title shall be paid
by the County Commissioners OR COUNTY COUNCIL.
117. Except where inconsistent with other provisions of this
Article, the words "Trial Magistrate of Montgomery County" appear-
ing in this Article and elsewhere in this Code and the laws of this
State, shall be deemed to mean "Judges of the People's Court of
Montgomery County".
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That Chapter 6, title "Juvenile
Court", of the Montgomery County Code (1950 Edition as amended,)
being Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, be
and it is hereby repealed, and that twenty NINETEEN new sections
and a new sub-title be and they are hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to
be known as Sections 70A through 70T 70S, inclusive, of Article 26 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Courts",
under the new sub-title "Judge for Juvenile Causes of Montgomery
County", to follow immediately after Section 70 of Article 26, and
to read as follows:
