(6) At the expiration of the term of office of the present clerks of
the Trial Magistrates Courts for Montgomery County, and every four
years thereafter, there shall be appointed by the Judges of the Peo-
ple's Court a clerk for each court of the circuit; namely, one clerk
each for Rockville, Bethesda, and Silver Spring. Such clerks shall
keep all dockets of and supervise and manage the office of said Court;
and
HE SHALL HAVE CUSTODY OF ALL MONIES PAID INTO
THE COURT FOR ANY PURPOSE AND SHALL DEPOSIT SUCH
MONIES PROMPTLY IN AN ACCOUNT IN HIS NAME IN
MONTGOMERY COUNTY; EACH CLERK SHALL PREPARE,
SIGN AND DELIVER WITH APPROPRIATE REMITTANCES
TO COUNTY AND STATE OFFICIALS SUCH REPORTS OF
FINES, FORFEITURES AND COSTS AS ARE REQUIRED OF
TRIAL MAGISTRATES BY LAW; EACH CLERK SHALL RE-
PORT THE FUNDS IN HIS CUSTODY REGARDLESS OF
WHICH JUDGE OR JUDGES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME PRE-
SIDE IN THE COURT; THE CLERKS shall perform such other
duties as shall be properly assigned to them by the Judges of the
People's Court, and they shall receive such salary as shall be fixed by
the County Council of said County in equal monthly installments; the
said clerks before entering upon their duties shall each give bond to
the State of Maryland in the penalty of Twenty-five Thousand Dollars
($25,000.00) with corporate surety satisfactory to said County Council,
the premium of said bonds to be paid by the County Council of Mont-
gomery County. The County Council for Montgomery County shall
provide such additional clerical help as may be necessary to carry out
the administrative work of said Courts at salaries to be fixed by said
County Council for Montgomery County.

111. (Substitute Magistrates.) (a) In addition to the Justices
of the Peace and Justices of the Peace at Large hereinbefore speci-
fied, the Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate,
shall appoint one Justice of the Peace at Large for each county of
the State, except Montgomery County, who shall be designated
"Substitute Trial Magistrate." Such magistrate shall post the bond
required of Trial Magistrates and shall receive a salary of $100.00
per year, except the substitute magistrate appointed for Baltimore
County, who shall receive $1,000.00 per year in addition to the
compensation received when actually sitting as a substitute as here-
inafter provided, and except the substitute magistrate appointed for
Kent and Somerset Counties, who shall receive Five Hundred Dollars
($500.00) per year in addition to the compensation received when
actually sitting as a substitute, as hereinafter provided, and except
the substitute magistrate appointed for Prince George's County, who
shall receive $1,300.00 per year, in addition to the compensation
received when actually sitting as a substitute, as hereinafter pro-
vided, [and except the substitute magistrate appointed from Mont-
gomery County, who shall receive $600.00 per year in addition to the
compensation received when actually sitting as a substitute as here-
after provided,] and except the substitute magistrate appointed for
Cecil County, who shall receive $300.00 per year in addition to the
compensation received when actually sitting as a substitute, as here-
inafter provided. And in Wicomico County said substitute trial
magistrate shall receive a salary of $800.00 per year.

(e) The Substitute Judge of the People's Court of Montgomery
County shall receive as compensation $600.00 per year in addition to
