traveling and other expenses of certain officers and employees of
Calvert County, WITH CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-sections (a) and (e) of Section 3 of Article 25 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "County Commis-
sioners/' sub-title "General Provisions/' be and they are hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
3. (a) The County Commissioners of each county in this State,
except Worcester, Kent, Caroline, Allegany, Prince George's, Wash-
ington, Somerset, Dorchester, Baltimore, Calvert (except as specifi-
cally provided otherwise hereinbelow), Wicomico, Anne Arundel,
Cecil, Charles, Howard, Frederick, and St. Mary's Counties, in addi-
tion to, but not in substitution of, the powers which have been or may
hereafter be granted them, shall have the following express powers:
(e) To fix and prescribe the salary or compensation of all ap-
pointed officers and employees of the County, and to prescribe and
provide for the payment of the traveling and other expenses of the
State's Attorney, Sheriff, Judges of the Orphans' Court and of all
other elected and appointed officers and employees of the County
incurred in the performance of their official duties. This subsection
shall be applicable in Calvert County, and the Board of County Com-
missioners of that County shall have the powers provided in this
sub-section, EXCEPT THAT IN THE APPLICATION OF SUCH
POWERS THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS SHALL
NOT ESTABLISH THE ANNUAL SALARY OR COMPENSATION
OF ANY PERSON IN AN AMOUNT CREATES GREATER THAN
$2,500.00.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section A. of
Section 91, Section 93 and Sub-section B of Section 94 of Article
66C of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title
"Natural Resources", sub-title "Soil Conservation Districts",
authorizing the Chairman of the State Board of Agriculture to
designate a member of the Board to serve as a member oi: the State
Soil Conservation Committee, setting forth the designation of poll-
ing places and the method of balloting for the election of Super-
visors and providing for the filling of vacancies of Supervisors.
