tated Code of Maryland (1954 Supplement), be and they are hereby
repealed; that Section 43A of said Supplement ARTICLE, title "Jus-
tices of the Peace", sub-titles "Docket", "Process and Practice" and
"Trial Magistrates System", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments; that a new Section 100 (16) be and it is
hereby enacted in lieu thereof to stand in the place and stead of the
sub-section so repealed, all to read as follows:
43A. Procedure in Prince George's County.
(a) Procedure generally.

The
county commissioners of Prince George's County are hereby author-
ized and directed to appropriate such funds as are necessary to pro-
vide for proper courtroom facilities, AND to provide for a private
office for the trial magistrate, and a witness box in the courtroom to
be used by said trial magistrates. CLERICAL ASSISTANTS FOR
THE TRIAL MAGISTRATES SHALL BE APPOINTED BY THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS AND THE COMPENSATION FOR
CLERICAL ASSISTANTS SHALL BE PAID BY THE COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS; EACH SUCH CLERICAL ASSISTANT SO
APPOINTED SHALL FILE WITH THE CLERK OF THE CIR-
CUIT COURT FOR THE COUNTY A GOOD AND SUFFICIENT
BOND, WITH CORPORATE SECURITY TO BE APPROVED BY
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS, IN SUCH PENAL SUM AS
THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MAY DIRECT AND IN SUCH
FORM AS SAID COMMISSIONERS MAY APPROVE, UPON THE
CONDITION EXPRESSED IN SUCH BOND THAT SUCH CLERI-
CAL ASSISTANT WILL TRULY AND FAITHFULLY DIS-
CHARGE, EXECUTE AND PERFORM, ALL AND SINGULAR,
THE DUTIES AND OBLIGATIONS IMPOSED UPON HIM AS
SUCH CLERICAL ASSISTANT AND TO ACCOUNT FOR AND
PAY OVER TO THE PROPER RECIPIENT THEREOF ALL
FEES, COSTS, FINES, PENALTIES, FORFEITURES AND
MONEYS FOR WHICH HE IS BOUND TO ACCOUNT AND PAY
OVER OR WHICH MAY COME INTO HIS HANDS AS SUCH
CLERICAL ASSISTANT; THE PREMIUMS FOR ALL BONDS
REQUIRED OF SUCH CLERICAL ASSISTANTS SHALL BE
PAID BY THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. THE TRIAL MAG-
ISTRATE SHALL DIRECT AND SUPERVISE THE SERVICES
TO BE RENDERED BY THE CLERICAL ASSISTANTS AP-
POINTED FOR HIM. [The clerk of the trial magistrate court is
hereby authorized and empowered to administer the oaths of wit-
nesses appearing before the said trial magistrates,

100 (16) Prince George's County.—There shall be two full-time
magistrates, each of whom shall receive an annual salary of $7,500.00,
and who shall sit not less than five days a week. One of the said
magistrates shall sit at Upper Marlboro and the other at Hyattsville,
the magistrate at Upper Marlboro shall sit not less than one day or
