"Washington County", sub-title "Jurors", repealing the provisions
of said Article relating to the method of selecting and summon-
ing jurors in Washington County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 537 and Section 538 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington
County", sub-title "Jurors", be and they are hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the imme-
diate preservation of the public health and safety and having been
passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the
members elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly
of Maryland, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 51 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement), title "Juries",
sub-title "Qualification and Selection of Jurors", said new section
to he known as Section 11-B and to follow immediately after
Section 11-A thereof, modifying the method of selecting and
summoning jurors in Washington County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 51 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement),
title "Juries", sub-title "Qualification and Selection of Jurors", said
new section to be known as Section 11-B and to follow immediately
after Section 11-A thereof, and to read as follows:
11-B. In Washington County, of the forty-eight jurors so drawn,
as provided in Section 11 of this Article, the Judge or Judges on the
day which they were so drawn shall select and appoint one as the
foreman of the grand jury at the next ensuing term of the Circuit
Court of Washington County; and of the remaining forty-seven
names, the first twenty-two in the order in which they were drawn
shall with the foreman selected as aforesaid constitute the grand
jury, and the remaining twenty-five shall constitute the petit jury
for the term of court for which they have been drawn, and said
names shall be recorded as drawn for the respective juries to which
they belong; and thereupon the said Judge or Judges shall forthwith
order a venire facias, directed to the Sheriff of said County, com-
manding him to summon as grand jurors to attend on the first day
of the next ensuing term of said Court the several persons whose
names have been drawn and selected as grand jurors as aforesaid,
