SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 22 (a) of Article 51 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Juries", sub-title "Qualification and Selection
of Jurors", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
22.
(a). Jurors in Anne Arundel and Washington Counties shall
receive Six Dollars per day and in all other counties, except Allegany
[County] and Baltimore Counties, Five Dollars per day for each and
every day they shall attend the several courts of this State as jurors
and Fifteen Cents for each mile over five miles for going to and
returning from the court, once in each term, to be paid by the
Counties, respectively, in which courts are held. Jurors in Baltimore
City shall receive such compensation as shall be provided in the
Ordinance of Estimates of said City each year. In Baltimore County,
jurors shall receive per diem compensation in such amounts as shall
be set, from time to time, by the judges of the Circuit Court of
Baltimore County.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

(Senate Bill 279)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section (a)
of Section 22 of Article 51 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Juries", sub-title "Qualification and Selec-
tion of Jurors", increasing pay of Jurors in Frederick County and
making mileage allowances of Jurors in Frederick County subject
to discretion of the County Commissioners.

Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Juries", sub-title "Quali-
fication and Selection of Jurors", be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, and to read as follows:
