land (1951 Edition), title "Health", sub-title "Registration of
Nurses", and Sections 286 and 289 of Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Health", sub-title
"Licensed Practical Nurses"; to add a new section to said Article
43, title "Health", sub-title "Registration of Nurses", said new
section to be known as Section 281-A and to follow immediately
after Section 281 of said title providing for the biennial recorda-
tion of certificates by registered nurses with the State Board of
Examiners of Nurses, providing for a fee of $2.00 for such recor-
dation, providing that it shall be unlawful to practice nursing as
a registered nurse in the absence of such recordation but that
the failure to record shall not be cause for the revocation of such
certificates; to add a new section to said Article 43, title "Health",
sub-title "Registration of Nurses", said new section to be known
as Section 285-A and to follow immediately after Section 285 of
said title providing that said Board of Examiners is authorized
to promulgate necessary regulations for the administration and
enforcement of the sub-title "Registration of Nurses"; to add a
new section to said Article 43, title "Health", sub-title "Licensed
Practical Nurses", to be known as Section 288-A and to follow
immediately after Section 288 of said title providing for the
issuance by said Board of Examiners of certificates of registra-
tion to licensed practical nurses registered under the laws of
other States if such applicants possess certain qualifications, file
a written application and pay a certain fee therefor; and, to add
a new section to said Article 43, title "Health", sub-title "Licensed
Practical Nurses", to be known as Section 292-A and to follow
immediately after Section 292 of said title providing that said
Board of Examiners is authorized to promulgate necessary regu-
lations for the administration and enforcement of the sub-title
"Licensed Practical Nurses."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 277, 279, 280 and 285 of Article 43 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Health", sub-title "Regis-
tration of Nurses", and Sections 286 and 289 of Article 43 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Health", sub-
title "Licensed Practical Nurses", be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, and a new section be, and it is
hereby added to said Article 43, title "Health", sub-title "Registra-
tion of Nurses", said new section to be known as Section 281-A
and to follow immediately after Section 281 of said title, and a new
section be, and the same is hereby added to said Article 43, title
"Health", sub-title "Registration of Nurses", said new section to be
known as Section 285-A and to follow immediately after Section
285 of said title, and a new section be, and the same is hereby added
to said Article 43, title "Health", sub-title "Licensed Practical
Nurses", to be known as Section 288-A and to follow immediately
after Section 288 of said title, and a new section be, and the same
is hereby added to said Article 43, title "Health", sub-title "Licensed
Practical Nurses", to be known as Section 292-A and to follow
immediately after Section 292 of said title, to read as follows:
277. The members of said State Board of Examiners of Nurses
shall, as soon as organized, and annually thereafter in the month
of May elect from their members a President and a Secretary who
shall be the Treasurer. Three members of said Board shall consti-
