Chevy Chase—Section 4 as named or created in this sub-title in
amounts certified to the County Council by the Committee: Provided,
however, that the Committee shall not certify nor the County Council
levy or collect a tax for any year of less than [twenty cents ($0.20)]
ten cents ($0.10) or in excess of fifty cents ($0.50) on each One
Hundred Dollars ($100.00) of assessed valuation of such real prop-
erty.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT THIS ACT
IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMERGENCY MEASURE
AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE PRESERVATION OF
THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND SAFETY, AND HAVING BEEN
PASSED BY A YEA AND NAY VOTE, SUPPORTED BY THREE-
FIFTHS OF ALL THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF THE
TWO HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND,
THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE OF ITS
PASSAGE.

(House Bill 798)
AN ACT to add Section 397A to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore County (1948 Edition), being Article 3 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Baltimore County", sub-title
"Taxes and Tax Sales", sub-heading "Annual Levy", said new sec-
tion to follow immediately after Section 397 thereof, authorizing
the Board of County Commissioners of Baltimore County to make
semi-annual levy on certain property for real property taxes and
relating generally to such levy and its collection.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
