SEC. 3 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 683
(House Bill 703)

AN ACT to "repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 304, Sub-
section (B) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County
(1948 Edition), title "Public Works", sub-title "Roads, Bridges,
Sidewalks and Storm Water Drainage", to eliminate an obsolete
requirement concerning the reporting of the amount and kind of
material and cost of labor used in each district.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 304, Sub-section (B) of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore County (1948 Edition), title "Public Works", sub-title
"Roads, Bridges, Sidewalks and Storm Water Drainage", be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

304. (B) The Baltimore County Roads Engineer shall inspect the
roads and bridges of the county as often as may be necessary to
thoroughly familiarize himself with the condition and requirements
of the County generally and make such special examinations and re-
port as the County Commissioners may require. He shall have full
power to suspend work being done by contract if the same is not in
his judgment being done according to the contract. Said Engineer
shall annually on or before the 15th day of April in each year, or
such later date as the County Commissioners may fix by resolution
from time to time, make a written report to said County Commis-
sioners covering the condition of the County roads and the improve-
ments that have been made in each district in the twelve months
ending on the last day of the preceding December. [, showing the
amount and kind of material used on each road with a detailed state-
ment of its cost and the amount and cost of labor on each road and
the amount of money expended for road purposes in each district.]
Said report shall contain a concise statement of the amount of money
expended in each district and a short summary of the work performed
in each district, which concise statement and summary shall be
published by the County Commissioners for two successive weeks in
one or more newspapers of general circulation in Baltimore County
and published therein.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
