234 (h). The County Commissioners of Prince George's County
may levy and pay such additional sum in excess of $5,400 PAID BY
THE STATE to the supervisor of assessments of said County as in
their discretion they shall determine, not to exceed AN AGGREGATE
PAYMENT OF SALARY TO SUCH SUPERVISOR OF $6,500. The
County Commissioners of Prince George's County may upon the
recommendation of the supervisor of assessments designate one of
the county assessors as assistant supervisor of assessments and the
County Commissioners may levy and pay such additional sum in
excess of $4,100 PAID BY THE STATE to the assistant supervisor
of assessments of said county as in their discretion they shall deter-
mine not to exceed AN AGGREGATE PAYMENT OF SALARY
TO SUCH ASSISTANT SUPERVISOR OF $5,500, provided, how-
ever, that the portion of said salaries to be paid to BY the State shall
be limited to the amounts as prescribed in the schedules hereinbefore
set forth.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local Laws of
Baltimore County, 1948 Edition, title 19 "Pensions", sub-title "Fire
Department System", to follow immediately after Section 248, to
be known as Section 248A, authorizing the County Commissioners
of Baltimore County to increase the pensions of retired firemen.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Baltimore County, 1948 Edition, title 19 "Pensions",
sub-title "Fire Department System", to follow immediately after
Section 248, to be known as Section 248A, and to read as follows:
248A. The County Commissioners of Baltimore County are hereby
authorized to increase the pensions of retired firemen in order that
a retired fireman shall at all times receive a sum equal to one-half
of the salary of an active member of the Fire Department of the same
rank the pensioner held at the time of his retirement.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
