(Senate Bill 19)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 43 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Health", sub-title "Tuber-
culosis", said new section to be known as Section 97A, and to
follow immediately after Section 97 thereof, providing for the
removal from public places by the STATE Department of Health

of per-
sons having tuberculosis in a communicable stage, and confinement
in a State tuberculosis hospital, and providing a penalty for re-
fusal to be so removed or to remain so confined, and preserving the
special interests of those persons believing in spiritual means or
prayer for healing.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 43 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Health", sub-
title "Tuberculosis", said new section to be known as Section 97A,
and to follow immediately after Section 97 thereof, and to read as
follows:
97A. Whenever a licensed practitioner of medicine shall report,
in writing, to the Deputy State Health Officer OR
