tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Deaf, Dumb and
Blind, " sub-title "Workshop and School for the Blind, " said new sec-
tion to follow immediately after Section 11 thereof, and to read as
follows:

11A. The Maryland Workshop for the Blind is empowered and
authorized to make agreements and contracts with the owner or
lessee of any privately-owned buildings or premises in this State
whereby the Workshop would have authority to issue licenses to blind
persons who are citizens of the United States and at least twenty-one
years of age, for the operation of vending stands in a private building
or on private premises, for the vending of newspapers, periodicals,
confections, tobacco products and any other articles, except alcoholic
beverages. The construction and location of any such vending stand
shall be such as meet the approval of the owner, lessee or custodian
of the building or premises in which or on which the vending stand is
to be located. The Maryland Workshop for the Blind, subject to the
terms of any such agreement or contract, shall have full supervision
and control over the operation of any such vending stand. The Work-
shop shall have full discretion as to who shall be placed in charge of
each stand and shall provide the equipment for the vending stand as
well as an adequate initial stock of suitable articles to be vended
therefrom.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 6
(House Bill 28)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-section (a) of
Section 24 of Article 17 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1954
Supplement), title "Clerks of Court, " sub-title "General Duties of
Clerks, " and to add sub-section (k-2) to said Section 24 (1951
Edition and 1954 Supplement), increasing the salary of the Clerk of
Circuit Court of Montgomery County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-section (a) of Section 24 of Article 17 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1954 Supplement), title "Clerks of Court, " sub-title
"General Duties of Clerks, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, and that a new sub-section (k-2) be and it
is hereby added to Section 24 (1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement),
all to read as follows:

(a) In Baltimore City and Calvert, Frederick and Montgomery
counties. —The clerk of the criminal court of Baltimore City and of
