CHAPTER 32
(Senate Bill 36)

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of Public Works of the
State of Maryland to release the mortgage made to the State of
Maryland by The Board of Trustees of Western Maryland College
on May 16, 1928.

WHEREAS, On May 16, 1928, a mortgage was executed by The
Board of Trustees of Western Maryland College to the State of
Maryland to secure the repayment of an appropriation of $58,524.37,.
made by the State to the College, said mortgage which is recorded
among the Land Records of Carroll County in Liber E.M.M.,Jr.
No. 85, Folio 100; and

Whereas, the General Assembly desires that the said mortgage
be released because it has impaired the further growth and improve-
ment of the said College; now, therefore,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Board of Public Works of the State of Maryland be and it
is hereby authorized and directed to release the mortgage and to
discharge the debt received by said mortgage, made by the Board
of Trustees of Western Maryland College to the State of Maryland,
on May 16, 1928, and recorded among the Land Records of Carroll
County in Liber E.M.M.,Jr. No. 85, Folio 100.

Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1958.

Approved March 13, 1958.

CHAPTER 33
(Senate Bill 53)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 234 (b)
and (c) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957
Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Absentee Voting Generally",
to provide for acceptance of printed forms distributed under Con-
gressional authority as applications for civilian absentee ballots
under specified conditions, providing for administration of oaths
for such applications by other officials, and relating to absentee
voting at elections in this State.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 234 (b) and (c) of Article 33 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Elections", sub-title "Absentee
