or any county or municipality, may be collected after January 1,1959.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
on January 1,1959.

CHAPTER 22
(Senate Bill 33)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 38 (d) of
Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title "Claims and Compen-
sation; Benefits", changing an incorrect cross reference in the law
concerning the penalty in the workmen's compensation statute
concerning an employer who fails to report an accident within the
time required.

Whereas, In Section 38 (d) of Article 101 of the Code there is a
cross reference to "the preceding paragraph"; and

Whereas, An amendment to this section in Chapter 814 of the
Acts of 1957 inserted a new paragraph or sub-section immediately
ahead of sub-section (d) so that the cross reference is now incorrect
and should be changed in order to make it a cross reference to sub-
section (b); now, therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 38 (d) of Article 101 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Workmen's Compensation", sub-title
"Claims and Compensation; Benefits", be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(d) Penalty.—Any employer who shall fail to report any accident
within the time prescribed in [the preceding paragraph] sub-section
(b) of this section
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon con-
viction thereof shall be fined not more than fifty dollars ($50.00).

Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1958.

Approved March 6, 1958.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 305 of
Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
