(3) There are no other means readily available for obtaining such
information.

(b)   Where statements are solely upon the information and belief
of the applicant, the grounds for the belief must be given.

(c)   The applicant must state whether any prior application has
been made to obtain telephonic and telegraphic communications on
the same instrument or for the same person and if such prior applica-
tion exists the applicant shall disclose the current status thereof.

(d)   The application and any order issued under this section shall
identify as fully as possible the particular telephone or telegraph
line from which the information is to be obtained and the purpose
thereof.

(e)   The court shall examine upon oath or affirmation the applicant
and any witness the applicant desires to produce or the court re-
quires to be produced.

(f)   Orders issued under this section shall not be effective for a
period longer than thirty (30) days, after which period the court
which issued the order may upon application of the officer who
secured the original order, by application, in its discretion, renew or
continue the order for an additional period not to exceed thirty (30)
days.

Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1958.

CHAPTER 16

(House Bill 40)

AN ACT to waive the provisions of Section 8 of Chapter 98 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of 1956, said section relating to the
time by which projects contained in the State Bond Construction
Act of 1956 must be placed under contract, insofar as the pro-
visions of said section relate to two items contained in said Act
for the State Military Department and relating to the construction
of an armory to be located in the Dundalk-Essex Area and to the
construction of an armory to be located at Cumberland; and to
extend, for two years, the period during which the said projects
may be placed under contract.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the provisions of Section 8 of Chapter 98 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1956, be and they are hereby waived insofar as
they impose a time for placing under contract items in said Chapter
98 and found on page 246 of the Laws of 1956, making available to
