To the Clerk of the Court of Appeals:
I, CLAUDE B. HELLMANN, SECRETARY OF STATE OF THE STATE OF
MARYLAND, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 210 of
Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition) DO
HEREBY CERTIFY, That at an Election held in the Town of Smithsburg,
Washington County, Maryland, July 8,1931, an Act known as Chapter
97 of the Acts of 1929, was submitted to the voters of the Town of
Smithsburg, Washington County, Maryland, for their adoption or
rejection under the provisions of Chapter 97 of the Acts of 1929, said
Act being as follows:
"An Act to authorize and direct the Burgess and Commissioners
of Smithsburg, Washington County, Maryland, to borrow
money on the credit of said town, and to issue bonds for the
payment of same to an amount not to exceed $50,000 for the
purpose of establishing, constructing and maintaining a water
distribution system".
AND I DO CERTIFY, that at such election a majority of the votes
being cast in favor of the adoption of Chapter 97 of the Acts of 1929,
the said Act was ratified by the voters of the Town of Smithsburg,
Washington County, Maryland, and was accordingly approved by an
Ordinance issued by the Burgess and Commissioners of the Town of
Smithsburg, Washington County, Maryland on July 9, 1931.
IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto subscribed my
