CHAPTER 59
(Senate Bill 113)

AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland to sundry gifts, bequests and devises contained
in the Last Wills a,nd Testaments of certain persons, deceased, and
also to certain gifts, grants, sales, leases and deeds made by
various persons to and for the use and benefit of sundry ministerial
persons, religious corporations, vestries, educational and charitable
institutions, churches, denominations or sects hereinafter named.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the sanction and consent of the said General Assembly of
Maryland be and the same is hereby declared, given and granted to
the following gifts, bequests, devises, grants, sales, leases, convey-
ances and deeds, to and from certain persons and bodies corporate
to and for the use of certain ministerial persons, religious and educa-
tion corporations, orders, denominations and sects, and to certain
charitable institutions hereinafter named and hereinafter set forth.

1.    To a deed to Trustees of Damascus Christian Church of Fulton
County, Pennsylvania, from Ahimas R. Garland and Sarah Garland,
his wife, dated the 4th day of May, 1938, and recorded among the
Land Records of Washington County, Maryland, in Liber No. 207,
folio 103.

2.    To a deed to Association of Congregational and Christian
Churches from Asbury Wigfield and Margery Wigfield, his wife,
dated the 14th day of December, 1906, and recorded among the Land
Records of Washington County, Md., in Liber No. 125, folio 140.

3.    To the remainder interest passing to The Bethany Methodist
Church of Pocomoke City, Maryland, in a Deed of Trust from Ray
C. Bowden to The Citizens National Bank of Pocomoke City, dated
July 25, 1932, and recorded among the Land Records of Worcester
County, Maryland, in Liber B. B. No. 16, folio 442, etc.

4.    TO A DEED TO THE POTOMAC CONFERENCE CORPO-
RATION OF SEVENTH DAY ADVENTISTS FROM ELIZABETH
BRIGGER AND CHARLES J. BRIGGER, HER HUSBAND,
DATED THE 8TH DAY OF MARCH, 1944, AND RECORDED
AMONG THE LAND RECORDS OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUN-
TY, MARYLAND, IN LIBER NO. 726, FOLIO 121.

Sec 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1958.

Approved April 4, 1958.
