ful for John Templeman, Adam Siglar, Thomas B.
Crawford, James Morrison, William Price, Edward
M'Carty, Senr. and James Mosely, or a majority
of them, to propose a scheme or schemes of a lottery
for raising a sum of money not exceeding one thou-
sand dollars, and to sell and dispose of the tickets;

Proviso.

thereof: Provided, The said John Templeman,, Adam
Siglar, Thomas B. Crawford, James Morrison, Wil-
liam Price, Edward M'Carty, Senr and James
Mosely, or such majority of them as shall undertake,
to act under this law, shall, before the sale or disposal 1
of any ticket or tickets in said lottery, give their
bond to the State of Maryland, in the penal sum of
two thousand dollars, conditioned that they will well
and truly apply so much of the money arising there-
from, within six months after the drawing of said lot-
tery shall commence, as will satisfy the fortunate ad-
venturers for prizes drawn by them; and after de-
ducting the necessary expences incurred in said lot-
tery, shall, within twelve months from the time of the
drawing of said lottery shall commence, cause the
said read to be opened and cleared out in the best
manner the sum of money raised by the said lottery
will admit.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be
the duty of said commissioners, before they act as
such, to lodge such bond in the clerk's office of Alle-
gany county, there to be recorded, and upon such
bond or any office copy thereof, suit or suits may be
instituted against the obligors therein, or any of them,
or their or any of their legal representatives, for any
breach or non-compliance with the condition of the
same.

An act to provide for the appointment of commissi-
oners, for the regulation and improvement of
Snow- Hill, in Worcester county.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, It is represented to this General
Assembly, that it would greatly contribute to the ad-
vantage of Snow-Hill, in Worcester county, that the
same should be placed under the care and regulation
of certain commissioners, to be elected by the citi-
zens thereof, and vested with sufficient powers to for-
ward and effect the purposes intended: Therefore,
