An act for the benefit of Tabitha Harrison and Leah
Tarr, of Worcester county.
|

Sums to be
levied for their
support.
|
BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of
Worcester county be, and they are hereby authorised
and empowered, at their levy court annually, so long
as they shall see cause, to levy on the assessable prop-
erty of said county, a sum of money not exceeding
thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of Ta-
bitha Harrison, of said county, and a sum not exceed-
ing thirty dollars, for the support and maintenance of
Leah Tarr, of said county, and the same shall be col-
lected and paid over to the said Tabitha Harrison and
Leah Tarr, or their order, in the same manner as
other county charges are collected and paid in said
county.

An act for the benefit of Jesse Moffett, (a minor, )
of Kent county.
|

|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, It has been represented to this Gen-
eral Assembly, by the petition of Lancelott Moffett,
guardian to Jesse Moffett, and of Josiah Massy and
others, of Kent county, that the draining of a certain
pond of stagnant water that stands upon the lands of
the said Jesse Moffett, who is now a, minor, has for the
last five months past been impeded by obstructions
having been put or placed in an artificial drain that
was cut many years since, for the purpose of drain-
ing the said pond, by which means the estate of the
said minor is injured, and the health of the citizens
in that neighbourhood considerably affected, and have
prayed relief: Therefore,

SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for
any person or persons that may be injured or in any
manner affected by the water standing upon the lands
of Jesse Moffett, of Kent county, (a minor, ) to re-
move any obstruction that may be put or placed, or
by accident happen to be in an artificial drain that
has heretofore been cut for the purpose of draining the
lands now belonging to the minor aforesaid, and other
lands. 1
