BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the letter of attorney purporting
to have been executed by Dr. Joseph Mackrill, before
a notary public residing in Cape-Town, Cape of Good
Hope, and bearing date on the thirteenth day of Sep-
tember, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and eleven, constituting and appointing
James Sloan, Senr. and James Sloan, Junr. of the city
of Baltimore, jointly and severally, his attornies and
attorney, for the purpose amongst other things, of
selling and disposing of his landed and other property
within the United States, and for transferring over
and assigning the same, shall be, when the same hath
been duly recorded, together with the affidavits there-
on endowed, amongst the land records of Baltimore
county, and the same is hereby declared to be valid
and effectual to every intent and purpose as if the said
letter of attorney had been proved by the subscribing
witnesses thereto in the manner required by the laws
of this State; and that the said James Sloan, Senr.
as attorney in fact of the said Joseph Mackrill be, and
he hereby is authorised and empowered to execute a
deed to Edward Harris, of the city of Baltimore, to
whom the said James Sloan, Senr. as attorney in fact
aforesaid, hath sold the lands herein after mentioned,
under and in virtue of the said letter of attorney,
granting and conveying unto the said Edward Har-
ris, his heirs and assigns, all the estate, right, title
and interest of the said Joseph Mackrill and his
heirs, of, in and to parts of two tracts or parcels of
land, situate in Baltimore county, called "Level Uni-
on, " and "The Level Union, " containing seventy-
four acres and three quarters of an acre of land,
more or less; which deed when executed, acknow-
ledged and recorded according to law, shall vest in
the said Edward Harris, his heirs and assigns, all the
estate, right, title and interest of the said Joseph
Mackrill, and his heirs, of, in and to the said parts of
tracts or parcels of land, called "Level Union, " and
"The Level Union, " any law to the contrary not-
withstanding.
