proper until the said capital stock shall be subscribed
tor.
4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That whenever
two thousand shares of the said stock shall be sub-
scribed for, all persons who may then be, or thereaf-
ter may become the actual proprietors of shares in
the said capital stock, either as subscribers for the
same or as the legal representatives, successors or
assignees of such subscribers, shall be, and they
are hereby made and created a body politic and in-
corporate, by the name and stile of The President and
Directors of the Susquehannah Bridge Company, and
by that name may sue and be sued, plead and be im-
pleaded, and do and suffer all acts matters and things
which a body politic incorporate may lawfully do
and suffer; and shall be, and are hereby invested and
cloathed with all and singular the privileges, rights,
immunities and advantages prescribed by an act en-
titled, an act to incorporate a company for the pur-
pose of building a bridge over the river Susquehan-
nah, passed at November session eighteen hundred
and eight, chapter one hundred and eleven; to be
governed by the several regulations and restrictions
as are therein mentioned, entitled to the same tolls,
adopting the same times and periods as to the election
of their president, managers and officers, where the
same is not inconsistent with and repugnant to the
provisions herein contained.

privileges.

An act to encourage the education of youth in Wor-
cester county.

24, 1812.

WHEREAS, The visitors of Worcester county
school, and the trustees of a private academy at
Snow Hill, have by their joint petition represented
that an union of the said schools and enlarging the
number of trustees and visitors would have a bene-
ficial effect in diffusing knowledge, and affording the
means of education to the youth of said county:
Therefore,

Preamble.

SEC. 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That James B. Robins, Samu-
el R. Smith, John S. Martin, John C. Handy, Am-
brose White, Ephraim K. Wilson, Thomas R. P.
Spence, William Whittington, James Givan, Tho-
mas S. Fassitt, Thomas N. Williams, George W.
Purnell, Joshua Prideaux, Isaac Franklin, James
Law, Junr. John Stevenson, Joshua Duer5 Edward
