manner as the money of account of the United States,
and that all accounts in the public offices, and all pro-
ceedings in the courts of this State, shall be kept and
had in conformity to this regulation

Judgments
and decrees.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That all judgments
and decrees in suits and actions hereafter to be ren-
dered and passed in any court of law or equity in this
State, and all penalties, fines and forfeitures hereafter.
to be imposed, shall be rendered, given, made or im-
posed in the money hereby made current; but any
judgment, decree, penalty, fine or forfeiture render-
ed, given, made or imposed in the manner they here-
tofore have been, shall not vitiate or render errone-
ous any such judgment, decree, penalty, fine or for-
feiture.

Public bonds
|
4. AND BE IT ENACTED, That in all public
bonds directed to be given to the State, hereafter to
be taken and executed in virtue of any law of this
State, the value of the penalty thereof shall be ex-
pressed in the money hereby made current in cases
where the penalty prescribed bylaw may be expressed
in a different money than that hereby made current:

|
Provided, That any omission thereof shall not ope-
rate so as to discharge the obligor or obligors men-
tioned in such bond, or to make the same void or of no
force or effect.
|

When to take
effect.
|
5. AND BE IT ENACTED, That this act shall
commence and be in force from and after the first day
of June next.

An act for the improvement of the Baltimore
Theatre.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHERE AS, It is represented to this General As-
sembly, that a new Theatre is about to be erected on
Holliday-street in the city of Baltimore, and that the
extension of an open portico in front of the said Thea-
tre as far as the curb or curb stones of the street,
would greatly contribute to the convenience and
safety of the citizens: Therefore,

BE IT ENACTED by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall and may be lawful for the
proprietors of the lot on which the Theatre now
stands in the city of Baltimore, when a new Theatre
shall be erected or erecting on said lot, to extend an
open portico from the front of said Theatre, on a level
with the box lobby, over the foot pavement of Holli-
