Michael Gaul's mill to the old York road, near Fors-
ter's meeting house, and from thence to the Baltimore
and York town turnpike road.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That so much of
the act to which this is a supplement, as requires a
road to be laid out in a direction from Vaughan's
Mine run and Gun-powder mills to the Owl branch be,
and the same is hereby repealed.

An additional supplement, to a supplement to the
act entitled, An act to regulate and discipline the
Militia of this State.

SEC, 1. BE IT ENACTED by the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That to each regiment of cav-
alry within this State, there shall be a staff, to con-
sist of one adjutant, one quarter-master, one pay-
master, one surgeon, and one surgeon's mate, and
one veterinary surgeon; and the Governor and
Council are hereby authorised and directed, to ap-
point the said staff or any part thereof, upon the
lieutenant-colonels or commanding officers of any
regiment or regiments, by, and with the consent of
the majority of the officers of said regiment or regi-
ments, making application in writing, and designat-
ing the appointment or appointments, and the names
of the persons to fill the same in their respective regi-
ments.

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That it shall be
the duty of each Heutena^colonel or commanding
officer of any regiment of cavalry, under the penal-
ty of fifty dollars for each neglect, to call together
or cause to be called together, by any officer or other
person they may order so to do within their respec-
tive districts, the commissioned and non-commis-
sioned officers, four times a year for drill exercise.

3. AND BE IT ENACTED, That each regi-
ment shall meet in the month of May in every spring,
and in the month of October in every fall, at such
convenient place as the lieutenant-colonel or com-
mander thereof may direct; and each squadron
shall meet once every spring in the month of April,
and once in the month of September in every fall
within the county in which such squadron may be
long, at such convenient place as the major or com-
manding officer may direct; and each troop shall
meet at least four times in a year independant of the
