CHAPTER 95.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to amend the Charter of the Union Plank or
Turnpike Road Company, passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and forty-nine, chapter three hun-
dred and fifty-eight.
|

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That so much of said act as requires
the company to construct or keep up the whole or any
part of said road of plank, be and the same is hereby
repealed, and that stone, gravel or any other hard sub-
stance may be substituted therefor.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in lieu of the
rates of toll established in the seventh section of the
original act to which this is a supplement, the said
company may demand and receive toll not exceeding
two cents per mile for any vehicle drawn by two ani-
mals; one cent per mile for every additional animal;
for every vehicle drawn by one animal, one cent per
mile; for every score of sheep, swine or cattle, three
cents per mile, and the same proportion for any less
number; for every horse and rider, or led or driven
horse, one cent per mile, and for every pleasure carriage
or vehicle, the above rates and one half the said rates

week, month or year.
