CHAPTER 76.

AN ACT to authorise and empower the surveyor of
Allegany county to run out, mark and establish a di-
vision line between district number eleven and dis-
trict number fourteen, in Allegany county.

Feb. 24, 1854.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the surveyor of Allegany county,
be, and he is hereby authorised to run out, mark and
establish the division line between district number
eleven and district number fourteen, in Allegany coun-
ty, in such manner as in his judgment will most con-
form to the wishes and convenience of the citizens of
said district.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the line when
thus run and marked by the said surveyor, shall be the
true line between the said districts, and that it shall be
the duty of the said surveyor to return to the clerk of
the circuit court for Allegany county, a clear and full
description of said line as established by him, which
shall be recorded in the said clerks office at the expense
of said county, and paid as county charges and liens are
paid.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the county com-,
missioners of Allegany county, at their next levy for
county purposes after said line has been thus establish-
ed, shall levy upon the taxable inhabitants of said
county such sum as they in their judgment shall deem
a fair compensation to said surveyor for the services per-
formed under this act.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall go
into operation from and after its passage.
