CHAPTER 54.

Passed

Feb. 24, 1854.

AN ACT to give the assent of the Legislature of Mary-
land, to sundry bequests or devises contained in the
last will and testament of Robert Griffith, to the Mis-
sionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Leave given.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the leave of the Legislature be, and
is hereby given, to the several devises contained in the
last will and testament or Robert Griffith, late of Dor-
chester county, deceased, to the Missionary Society of
the Methodist Episcopal Church.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 55.

Feb. 24, 1854.

AN ACT to make valid a deed from Jacob Weller, of
John, to Jacob Weller, B. S., Henry Kemp and George
Stokes, for the use and benefit of the Church of the
United Brethren in Christ, near Mechanicstown, in
Frederick county, and to authorise the conveyance of
the property therein mentioned, to the regular Trus-
tees of said Church, for the use aforesaid.

Deed made

valid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the deed made on the thirty-first day of
March, eighteen hundred and thirty, by Jacob Weller,
of John, conveying certain real estate therein mentioned,
to Jacob Weller, B. S., Henry Kemp and George Stokes,
and their successors forever, for the use and purpose of
erecting thereon a house of worship for the United
Brethren in Christ, and also for the use of a grave yard,
which said deed is regularly recorded in the land re-
cords of Frederick county, be, and the same are hereby
made as valid and effectual in law to all intents and
purposes, as if the same had been made to the requisite
number of Trustees of said Church, and had been reg-
ularly chosen according to the provisions of the act of
eighteen hundred and two, chapter one hundred and

eleven.
