Meetings.
|
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That said commissioners
shall hold at least four meetings for business during the
year; four being a quorum for business.
|

Oath.
|
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That said chief and as-
sistant commissioners shall take an oath, before a jus-
tice of the peace, prior to entering upon the duties of
office, to administer the duties of said office faithfully
and impartially.

AN ACT to make valid the acts of James Valliant, of
Talbot county, as a Justice of the Peace of said county.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, It is represented to this General Assembly,
that James Valliant, of Talbot county, was duly
elected a justice of the peace of said county in and
for election district number two of said county, but
failed to qualify within thirty days after the returns
of said election were deposited in the office of the
circuit court of said county, but qualified within thirty
days after the reception of his commission, and pro-
ceeded to act as a justice of the peace in said election
district; And whereas, the said James Valliant has
since been duly appointed and commissioned as a
justice of the peace for said county by the Executive
of Maryland, and been confirmed by the Senate ;
Therefore,

Acts made
valid.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That all the official acts of James Val-
liant, of Talbot county, as a justice of the peace in and
for election district number two in said county, from
the time of his election and entering upon the duties of
said office, shall be as valid and effectual as if he had
qualified within the time limited by the fifth section of
the act of eighteen hundred and fifty-two, chapter one
hundred and seventy-two.

SEC. 2, And be it enacted, That this law shall take
effect from and after its passage.
