CHAPTER 293.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT for the relief of Zephaniah H. Turner, of
Charles county.
|

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of
Charles county are hereby authorised and required to
pay to the trustees of primary school number three, of
second election district, of said county, for the use and
benefit of Zephaniah H. Turner, for services rendered
as teacher of said school for the year eighteen hundred
and fifty-three, out of any surplus levy that may be at
their disposal, a sum of money equal to the amount
awarded or paid to the respective teachers of primary
schools in said county for the year eighteen hundred
and fifty-three.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if there be no sur-
plus levy at the disposal of the commissioners aforesaid,
then said county commissioners are hereby authorised
and required to levy upon the assessable property of
Charles county, for the use of Zephaniah H. Turner,
a sum of money equal to the amount awarded and paid
to the respective teachers of primary schools in Charles
county for the said year eighteen hundred and fifty-
three.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
