the property, estate and joint stock of the corporation
shall be bound and answerable for the debts and liabi-
lities.

Banking for-
bid.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That nothing contained
herein shall be construed as granting banking privileges
to said corporation, or exempting their property and
effects from general taxation.

Reservation.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted. That the Legislature re-
serves to itself the right to alter or amend this act of in-
corporation whenever the public good may require it.

CHAPTER 266.

Passed
Mar. 10, 1854.

AN ACT to refund to the securities of John R. Driver,
collector of State tax for Queen Anne's county, cer-
tain monies erroneously paid by them to the treasurer
of Maryland.

Authority to
pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That upon the warrant of the comptrol-
ler, the treasurer of Maryland shall pay to the securities
of John R. Driver, the sum of sixty-six dollars and
thirty-three cents, being money overpaid by them, as
State tax collector for Queen Anne's county.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.
