SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the place of hold-
ing elections for said district shall be at the village of
Drawbridge, in said district.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the constables,
justices of the peace and supervisors of roads now elect-
ed for district number three, shall continue to discharge
their duties in the portion of said district hereby laid off
into a new district until officers for said district are
elected and qualified at the next general election for
delegates; and said district hereby laid off, shall be en-
titled to one constable and two justices of the peace
and one supervisor of public roads, to be elected at the
next general election for delegates, and regularly there-
after as in other districts in said county.

CHAPTER 257.

Present con-
stables, &c.

AN ACT to regulate contracts between trustees and
teachers of primary schools in Howard county.

Passed
Mar. 10, 1854.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall not
be lawful for the trustees of any primary school in
Howard county, to contract with or engage the services
of any teacher in said schools for a longer period of
time than the expiration of the year for which they,
the said trustees were elected.
