Passed
Mar. 10, 1854.
AN ACT to authorise Priscilla J. Jackson, to release her
dower in her late husband's real estate.
Preamble.
WHEREAS, it has been represented to the General As-
sembly of Maryland, That John C. Jackson, late
of Cecil county, has departed this life, seized in fee
of a small parcel of real estate, which owes its chief
value to a mill thereon erected, which mill is no win
bad repair, and requires a large outlay of money to
put it in good running order; and whereas, he has
left a young widow Priscilla J. Jackson, under the
age of twenty one-years, who is unwilling to bear
any pail of the expense necessary for the proper im-
provement of said mill, but is desirous to dispose of
her right of dower in the said real estate, and would
sell and convey the same, if she had the legal capa-
city to do so, to the heirs at law of her deceased hus-
band, who are ready to purchase; and whereas, it
would therefore, promote the interest of all the par-
ties concerned in the said real estate for the widow to
have the legal capacity to release her said dower
therein,

Authority to
sell.

her right of dower in the real estate of her said de-
ceased husband, as fully and absolutely; and to all in-
