SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That lor live expenditure in the support
of the Government for the present year, ending on the
first day of January eighteen hundred and fifty-five, the
following sums of money or so much thereof as may be
necessary, be, and the same are hereby appropriated, that
is to say: for the compensation granted by the Consti-
tution of this State and the laws thereof, to the mem-
bers of the Senate and House of Delegates, their offi-
cers and attendants, the salaries of the secretary and
chief clerk of the respective houses excepted, and also,
for the contingent expenses of the General Assembly,
including the cost of printing, fifty thousand dollars ;
for the postage of the members of the General Assem-
bly, including the secretary and chief clerk of the re-
spective houses, and for the postage of the Executive
and Treasury Department, four thousand dollars; for
the salaries of the following civil officers, that is to say,
for the salary of the Governor of this State, three thou-
sand six hundred dollars; for the salary of the secretary
of State, one thousand dollars; for the salary of the Comp-
troller of the Treasury, two thousand five hundred dol-
lars; for the salary of the Treasurer of this Slate, two-
thousand five hundred dollars; for the salary of the
commissioner of the Land Office, two hundred dollars;
for the salaries of the judges of the court of Appeals,
ten thousand dollars; for the salary of the Chancellor,
six hundred dollars; for the salary of the judge of the
first judicial circuit, two thousand dollars; for the sala-
ry of the judge of the second judicial circuit, two thou-
sand dollars; for the salary of the judge of the third
judicial circuit, two thousand dollars; for the salary of
the judge of the fourth judicial circuit, two thousand
dollars; for the salary of the judge of the superior
court of Baltimore city, two thousand five hundred dol-
lars; for the salary of the judge of the court of com-
mon pleas for Baltimore city, two thousand five hun-
dred dollars; for the salary of the judge of the circuit
court for Baltimore city, three thousand dollars; for the
salary of the judge of the sixth judicial circuit, two
thousand dollars; for the salary of the judge of the
