assess the value of the said land, and the damages to the
owner thereof, consequent upon its being overflowed as
aforesaid, and it shall be the duty of the sheriff sum-
moning such jury, to return their verdict in writing de-
signaling and describing the land embraced in such
verdict to the office of the clerk of the circuit court for
Queen Anne's county, whose duty it shall be to record
the same, after it has been confirmed by the said court,
amongst the land records of said county, but in case the
same shall be set aside by the said court, the judge
thereof shall issue a new warrant for the summoning of
another jury of inquest, who shall be summoned, and
proceed to act in the manner hereinbefore set forth, and
whenever the said inquisition, of damages is confirmed
by the said court, it shall be the duly of the owners of
the said mill to pay the amount of the said damages to
the owner of the said land so condemed, and the sheriff
and each juror who may be summoned as aforesaid,
shall receive from the owners of the said mill two dol-
lars for each day they may be actually engaged in mak-
ing the said condemnation.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT amendatory of an act, entitled an act to pro-
vide for the appointment of a weighmaster of live
stock in the city of Baltimore, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and thirty-seven, chapter
three hundred and thirteen, and to a supplement
thereto, passed at December session, eighteen hun-
dred and forty-one, chapter one hundred and nine-
teen.

of Maryland, That it shall be the duty of the weigh-
master of live stock in the city of Baltimore, in additional
