nine, to examine into and adjust all claims existing
against the Eastern Shore Rail Road Company, did
upon the twenty-eight day of October, eighteen hun-
dred and forty, certify and award that there was due
to T. J. and C. Wright, the sum of forty dollars;
and whereas, the said award has not been paid to the
said T. J. and C. Wright, as was provided by the
third section of the above mentioned act, because of
its amount being less than one hundred dollars;
Therefore,

Authority to
pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer be, and he is hereby
directed, upon warrant of the Comptroller, to pay to
T. J. and C. Wright or to their order the sum of forty
dollars, and to John E. Cacy, assignee of William Mc.
R. Osburn, or his order fourteen dollars.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 198.

AN ACT to pay Joseph Schaeffer, Collector of the
State Tax for Carroll county for the years eighteen
hundred and forty-eight, eighteen hundred and forty-
nine, eighteen hundred and fifty, and eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-one, a sum of money overpaid into the
Treasury, and for insolvencies allowed.

Authority to
pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer is hereby authorised
and directed to pay upon the warrant of the Comptrol-
ler, to Joseph Schaeffer, collector of State taxes for
Carroll county, for the years eighteen hundred and for-
ly eight, eighteen hundred and forty-nine, eighteen
hundred and fifty, and eighteen hundred and fifty-one,
