LAWS OF MARYLAND.

entitled an act to protect the reputations of unmarried
females, passed at the session of eighteen hundred and
thirty eight, and also shall not be construed in any man-
ner to release any property to which the said applicant
shall or may become entitled to after his application,
by gift, descent, devise or in the way of distribution,
but the same shall go into the hands of his trustee, to
be distributed among his creditors, according to the
provisions of this act, and in no such case shall the plea
of limitation apply.

To take effect.

SEC. 23. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage and the following acts
all of which relate to insolvent debtors are and shall be
repealed, and be of none effect as to the applications for
the benefit of the insolvent law, which shall be made
after the passage of this act, to wit: the act of eighteen
hundred and five, chapter one hundred and ten, entitled
an act for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors, acts of
eighteen hundred and six, chapter ninety-eight, eigh-
teen hundred and seven, chapter fifty-five, chapter one
hundred and fifty, eighteen hundred and eight, chapter
seventy one, eighteen hundred and nine, chapter one
hundred and seventy-nine, eighteen hundred and
twelve, chapter seventy-seven, eighteen hundred and
fourteen, chapter one hundred and twenty-two, eigh-
teen hundred and sixteen, chapter two hundred and
twenty-one, eighteen hundred and seventeen, chapter
one hundred and eighty-three, eighteen hundred and
nineteen, chapter eighty-four, eighteen hundred and
twenty, chapter one hundred and eight, chapter one
hundred and eighty-two, chapter one hundred and
eighty-six, chapter one hundred and ninety-four, eigh-
teen hundred and twenty-one, chapter two hundred
and fifty, eighteen hundred and twenty-two, chapter
