Salary.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the keeper afore-
said shall receive an annual salary of one thousand dol-
lars to be paid quarterly out of the Treasury, deducting
therefrom the amount of fees received each quarter, a
statement whereof shall be made to the Comptroller.

In force.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall
commence and take effect on the eleventh day of
March, eighteen hundred and fifty-four, and continue
in force for two years thereafter.

CHAPTER 150.

AN ACT amendatory of an act passed January session
eighteen hundred and fifty-three, chapter one hun-
hundred and ninety-four, entitled, an act to incorpo-
rate the Baltimore and Potomac Rail Road Company.

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That so much of the second section of an
act passed January session eighteen hundred and fifty-
three, chapter one hundred and ninety-four, entitled,
an act to incorporate the Baltimore and Potomac Rail
Road Company, as requires that two thousand five
hundred shares of the capital stock of said company
shall be subscribed before the said company is incorpo-
rated, be and the same is hereby repealed.

Division of
capital stock.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock
of said company be, and the same shall be divided into
shares of fifty dollars each, and as soon as one thousand
shares of the said capital stock shall be subscribed, the
subscribers of the said stock, their successors and as-
signs, and their associates, by subscription, shall be
and they are hereby declared to be incorporated, with
like rights, powers and privileges, as are particularly
mentioned and prescribed in the said original act, and
shall as soon as may be thereafter, proceed to survey
and lay out the said road under the direction of such
person or persons as the said company shall appoint.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage.
