reasonable and just, as a compensation for professional
services and attention rendered by them to the poor of
Williamsport and its vicinity in the said county, during
the prevalence of the cholera in said town in the sum-
mer of eighteen hundred and fifty-three.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.

CHAPTER 133.

In force.

AN ACT to incorporate the Frostburg Savings Bank.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John Neff, John C. Wise, James
H. Hoblitzell, Jeremiah S. Welsh, James M. Porter,
Charles H. Hammill and Michael Halfin,and all others,
who shall become members of the Frostburg Savings
Bank in the manner hereinafter mentioned, shall be,
and they are hereby made and created, a body politic
and corporate, by the name and style of the Frostburg
Savings Bank, and by that name shall have succession
and be capable in law to hold and dispose of property,
to sue and be sued, implead and be impleaded, defend
and be defended, in any court of law or of equity, to
receive and make all deeds, contracts, transfers, con-
veyances and grants, whatsoever, to make, have, and
use a common seal, and the same to alter and renew at
pleasure, and generally to do every other act or thing
necessary to carry into effect the provisions of this act.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That there shall be a
meeting of the members of said corporation on such day
and at such place, as the several persons first above
named, or a majority of them, shall appoint, of which
meeting they shall give at least ten days notice, by ad-
vertisement in some newspaper printed in Cumberland,
and on such days annually thereafter, and at such place
as the by-laws of said corporation shall provide, for the
purpose of chosing from among the members six direc-
tors, to manage the affairs of said corporation for one
year thereafter, and until a new election of directors
