129. An act entitled, a supplement to an act for the preserva-
tion and repair of that part of the United States road lying with-
in the limits of Maryland, passed at December session, 1831,

chapter 65.

130. An act to refund to Rev'd Nicholas I. Watkins, thirty-
two dollars and seventy-three cents, being the amount overpaid
the State by said Watkins for State taxes.

131. An act to incorporate the Merchant's Exchange company

of Baltimore.

132. An act to allow to the Susquehanna and Tide Water
Canal companies to fund their debt and issue additional stock.

133. An act to provide that the answers of defendants in pro-
ceedings in equity shall not he evidence against complainants,
unless such answers be required by the complainants to be under
oath.

Maryland to suppress the retailing of ardent spirits in the village

of Charlotte Hall, and within two miles thereof, upon the re-
commendation of a majority of the trustees of Charlotte Hall
academy.

141. An act to authorise the mayor and city council of Balti-

more to aid in the construction of a rail road from the terminus of
the York and Cumberland road, at Bridgeport, to Sunbury and
Williamsport on the Susquehanna.

142. An act to authorise the commissioner of the land office to

issue a warrant of resurvey and patent for certain lands in Alle-
gany county.

143. An act to amend an act entitled, an act to incorporate the
proprietors of Baltimore Cemetery, passed at December session
1849, chapter 71, granting power to said company to convey cer-
tain portions of their grounds, and to increase its capital stock.

144. An act to authorise the county commissioners of Frede-
rick county, in their discretion, from time to time, to appoint road
