RESOLUTIONS.

cy of the analysis, based on experiments to test the eva-
porated powers of different coals, made by Professor
Waller R. Johnson, under an appropriation by an act
of Congress, approved September the eleventh, eigh-
teen hundred and forty-one, and whose report, made in
pursuance thereof, is numbered as Senate document,
number three hundred and eighty-six of the present ses-
sion, twenty-eighth Congress.
Resolved, That our Senators and Representatives be
requested to ascertain, if any order or orders have been
issued to the commanders of docks and navy yards, to
use anthracite coal at those places in preference to any
other, and if such orders have been given to ascertain
the reasons therefor.
Resolved, That the Governor transmit a copy of
these resolutions to the Senators and Representatives of
Maryland in the Congress of the United States.

Resolutions in relation to a Light on Fort Sollers.
WHEREAS, The fortification now in course of erec-
tion, in the Patapsco river, on the flats at Sollers' point,
lying in the track of small vessels passing up or down
the said river, constitute a dangerous impediment to
navigation, Therefore ;
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That our Senators and Representatives in Congress,
be, requested to use their effort to have a light kept on
Fort Sellers, in Patapsco river, near Baltimore.
Resolved further, That his Excellency the Governor,
be requested to forward a copy of the foregoing resolu-
tion to our Senators and Representatives in the Con-
gress of the United States.
