CHAPTER 333.

AN ACT making an Appropriation for the payment

of the annual compensation allowed the Commis-
sioner of the Land office, under the Act of Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred mid forty-three,
chapter two hundred and forty-four.

Sum appro-
priated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That the sum of fifty dollars, be, and
the same is hereby appropriated, out of any money in the
Treasury not otherwise appropriated, in payment of the
annual compensation of the Commissioner of the Land

office, allowed by the act of December session, eigh-
teen hundred and forty-three, chapter two hundred and
forty-four, for services required to be performed pursu-
ant to the act of December session, eighteen hundred
and forty-one, chapter twenty-three.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of the passage thereof.

CHAPTER 334.

AN ACT to release the interest of this State in the
lands of Samuel Galbraith, late of Cecil County,
deceased, in favor of his Relatives.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, by virtue of an act of the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, passed at May session, eighteen hun-
dred and thirty-five, chapter three hundred and seventy-
eighth, one James Galbraith, of Cecil county, was
authorised and empowered to sell a tract of land lying
in said county, called the Golden Rey, containing one
hundred acres, more or less, whereof one Samuel Gal-
braith, late of said county died seized, and the same to
convey and assure to the purchaser or purchasers, his,
her or their heirs and assigns, on the payment of the
whole purchase money, and to make return of said sale,
and of his proceedings under the aforesaid act to the
Orphans' court of Cecil county, and under the direc-
tion of said court to distribute the proceeds of said sale
among the several surviving relatives of the said Samuel
Galbraith, deceased, in manner provided by law for the
