all the buildings within the State House enclosure, from
nine o'clock, P. M., until daylight each day, and also
take charge of and keep in order the fire apparatus be-
longing to the State.

CHAP. 326.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That the Treasurer

of this State shall, upon the warrant of the Comptroller,
pay the said sums of money herein specified upon the
certificate of the Librarian, out of any money not
otherwise appropriated.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That this act
shall go into effect immediately upon its passage.

CHAPTER 326.

In force.

AN ACT to Incorporate the Baltimore and Phila-
delphia Rail Road Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Henry A. Thompson, Robert

Howard, Isaac Tyson, Junior, J. H. Stickney, Thomas
E. Bond, Junior, J. M. Duckett, L. J. Quintan, D. G.
McCoy, Jonathan Warner, Cheyney Hoskins, J. H.
Price, J. C. Walsh, Joseph Roman, Junior, Thomas
Richards, John Reynolds, and Edwin Haines, be, and
they are hereby appointed commissioners, under the.
direction of whom subscriptions may be received to the
capital stock of the Baltimore and Philadelphia rail
road company hereby incorporated, and they, or a ma-
jority of them, may cause books to be opened at such
times and places as they may direct, for the purpose of
receiving subscriptions to the said capital stock of said
company, after having given such notice of the times
and places of opening the same as they may deem
proper, and if such a subscription to the capital stock

of said company as is necessary for its incorporation
be not previously obtained, the said books may be
opened, from time to time, during the period of three
years from the passage of this act, at the discretion of
said commissioners, or a majority of them, and if any

of said commissioners shall die, or refuse to act,
during the continuance of the duties devolved upon
them by this act, another may be appointed in his
stead by the remaining commissioners, or a majority of
them.
