CHAPTER 307.
AN ACT to permit the Baltimore and Ohio Rail
Road Company, to lend their aid or credit to the
North Western Virginia Rail Road.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road com-
pany, be, and they are hereby authorised to lend their
aid or credit to the North Western Virginia Rail Road,
connecting with the line of said Baltimore and Ohio
Rail Road as may hereafter be determined on by said
company, and in such manner as they may deem most

Provisoes.

advantageous; Provided, such aid or credit be not ex-
tended beyond a limit of one million five hundred thou-
sand dollars, in all; And provided further, that no
debt or liability incurred under the provisions of this
act, shall, in any way, supersede or interfere with the
priorities of the State of Maryland; Provided, that the
said company shall not, by lending its credit or using
its funds for the construction of any rail road, use or
lend any sum which may be due for dividends on the
stock now held, or which may hereafter be held by this
State in the said company; but the State shall receive
the same amount for dividends that would have been
received if the said company had not employed its
creditor funds in the construction of any other rail road.

AN ACT Regulating the Fees of the Clerks of the
Courts and the Registers of Wills.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
of Maryland, That the clerk of the Court of Appeals
the clerks of the Circuit courts and the clerks of the
courts of the city of Baltimore, may charge the fees
herein allowed for the performance of their respective
duties, to wit :
For filing any paper or thing required to be filed
and entering the same on the docket or min-
utes of the court, to be charged but once, 5
For the docket entry of any judgment or decree, 25
