CHAP. 298.

office, upon which copy and certificate, an action may
be maintained in the name of the State for the use of
the party interested, and judgment may be recovered
in such action, for the damage actually sustained.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall be
in force from the passage thereof.

AN ACT to authorise certain Trustees, or their
Successors, or the Survivors of them, to sell and
convey the Parsonage House and Lot of the Me-
thodist Episcopal Church, in the Church Hill Cir-
cuit, and to Purchase another Parsonage House
and Lot with the Proceeds of said Sale.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That John D. Perkins, Joshua W. Mas-
sey, Benjamin S. Elliott, Samuel M. Keen, James,
Roe, Newton Keen, Senah Busick, Vincent Benton,
and John Hackett, trustees of the parsonage house and
lot of the Methodist Episcopal Church, in Church Hill
Circuit, situate at Suddlersville, or their successors, duly
appointed, or the survivors or survivor of them, in case
the said succession has not been regularly continued,
be, and they are, or he is hereby authorised and em-
powered to sell and convey the aforesaid parsonage
house and lot, and with the proceeds of said sale, in
whole or in part, to purchase another parsonage house
and lot, or a site for, and erect, or cause to be erected
thereon, another parsonage house within the limits of
said circuit, for the accommodation of the preacher in
charge of said circuit, and to take the title to the house
and lot so purchased or acquired, in the names of such
persons, as shall be at the time of such purchase or ac-
quisition the trustees of the Methodist Episcopal
Church on said circuit, and their successors forever.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
