ers to lay out a new election district, out of those parts
of the Creagerstown, Emmittsburg, and Hauvers elec-
tion districts, contiguous to each other, with the follow-

ing boundaries, as nearly as the public convenience may
require: beginning at the summit of the Catoctin
mountain, near the furnace, and miming thence to a
point near the blacksmith shop of Michael Zimmer-
man, thence from said shop along the public road to
Thomas Metcalfe's land, thence with a straight line to
John R. Boller's house, including said house and the
village of Graceham, thence along the public road
leading from Mechanicstown to the Emmittsburg cross
road, thence along the Emmittsburg road to a point
where the branch, known as Beaver Dam, crosses said
road, thence in a straight line to a point north of
John A. Martin's house, thence in a northern direction
to William Boiler's farm, thence with the Emmitts-
burg road, leading to Wolf's tavern, to the cross roads
from Mechanichstown to Sabillisville, thence with a
straight line to Harman's farm, thence with the south
side of the road to the new cut road, near Gat's farm,
and thence with a straight line to the place of begin-
ning; and to make choice of a place in the said new
election district so laid off, at which the elections shall
be held, having due regard to the accommodation of
persons attendant upon such elections; and the said
commissioners shall on or before the third Monday of
July next, deliver to the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Frederick county, a description in writing, under their
hands and seals, specifying plainly the boundaries and
number of the election district so laid off by them,
which shall be numbered fifteen, and also the place
where the election for such district shall be held, and
the said clerk shall record the same in the records of
said county, and transmit a copy thereof to the Gov-
ernor.

Sheriff to give
notice.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the sheriff of Fre-
derick county shall give notice of the place of holding
the election in such election district, so laid off anew,
by causing the same to be inserted in one or more
newspapers, printed in Frederick county, once a week,
for at least two months previous to holding the election
in November next.

Vacancy.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That if any of the com-
missioners named in this act shall die, remove out of
the county, or refuge to accept his appointment, before
the first Monday of September next, the remaining
commissioners are hereby authorised and directed to
fill such vacancy or vacancies.
