CHAP. 33.

tices of the Peace of the State of Maryland, in and
for the city of Baltimore, and also, that the persons
who executed and acknowledged said deed, were known
to the said Justices to be the persons who were named
and described as, and professing to be, the parties of the
first part thereto.

SEC. 2 And be it enacted, That this act shall be in
force from the passage thereof.

CHAPTER 33.

20, 1852.

AN ACT to enable the Trustees and Congregation

of Saint Patrick's Church, in the city of Baltimore,
to raise money upon a pledge of the Church proper-
ty, for the payment of the Debt incurred by enlarg-
ing the Buildings.

Authorised to
borrow mo-
ney, and issue
certificates,
&c.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the trustees and congregation

of Saint Patrick's Church, in the city of Baltimore, be
and they are hereby authorised and empowered to bor-
row any sum of money, not exceeding the sum of four
thousand dollars, and in sums of not less than one
hundred dollars, for the payment of the debt, incurred
by enlarging the church building upon their lot, at the
North East corner of Broadway and Bank streets, in
the said city; and to make and issue certificates of
said loan, payable at such times as may be agreed upon
by and between the parties, with interest thereon, pay-
able half yearly, which said certificates of loan shall
be signed by the pastor of said church, and shall be in
such form as the parlies thereto may agree upon, and
shall he assignable as other choses in action; and shall
be a lien upon the said ground and buildings, in the
nature of a mortgage, and to be enforced, if necessary,
as a mortgage.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act take effect
from the date of its passage.
