CHAPTER 260.

AN ACT to authorise the payment to James C.
Davis, of the sum of money over-paid by him as
State Taxes.

Authority to
pay.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Treasurer pay, upon the warrant of
the Comptroller, to James C. Davis, of Baltimore city,
the sum nine dollars and fifty-eight cents, that being
the amount of State taxes over-paid by him.

CHAPTER 261.

AN ACT to create a New Election District in Fre-
derick County, out, of parts of number three and
number six Election Districts.

Commission-
ers appointed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly

of Maryland, That Captain David Kailor, Daniel
Main and David Young, of D., he, and they are here-
by authorised and appointed, or a majority of them,
commissioners to lay off a new election district, which
shall be called Jackson District, or District Number
Sixteen, out of those parts of Catoctin and Middletown
election districts contiguous to each other, and to make
choice of a place in said new erection district, so laid off,
at which the election shall be held, having due regard to
the accommodation of persons attendant upon such
elections, and the said commissioners shall, on or be-
fore the third Monday of June next, deliver to the clerk

of Frederick county, a description in writing, under
their hands and seals, specifying plainly, the bounda-
ries and number of the election district so laid off by
them, and also the place where the election for such
district shall be held, and the said clerk shall record
the same in the records of said county, and transmit
a copy thereof to the Governor.

Boundaries.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the boundaries of
the said new election district shall be as follows: be-
ginning at the Frederick district, line above George
Blessings, and running thence in a straight line, as near
as practicable to intersect the Catoctin creek, where
the road leading from Smithburg to Frederick city cros-
